What are the benefits available in the scheme
- In Sukanya Samridhi Yojana, a bank account of a girl child will be opened for which the age of the girl should be less than 10 years.
- Amount from Rs. 250 to Rs. 1.5 lakh can be deposited in the bank account.
- Interest will also be given at the rate of 7.6% on the deposits in the bank account.
- After opening the bank account, keep depositing the money for 15 years. Penalty can also be levied if the amount in the bank runs out or if the amount is not deposited for a long time.
- 50% of the amount can be withdrawn from the account when the daughter turns 18 years old.
- In Sukanya Samridhi Yojana, only two girls’ accounts can be opened from one family.
